AWARD-WINNING “SOULMATE” DOCUMENTARY GAINING INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION

Faith-based documentary attracts over 2,500 people at Los Angeles premiere, screening requests pouring in from all over the country and wins top awards at film festivals in San Francisco and New York.

LOS ANGELES, CA (EnvisionPR.com) – The new SOULMATE film garners top honors at two film festivals last month.  As the mission of her production company, Clean Heart Productions, acclaimed veteran writer and television producer Andrea Wiley has released a riveting film that takes viewers on a journey into the realities facing today’s successful, saved, single African-American women.  After introducing the film to over 2,500 attendees at the standing room only Los Angeles premiere, Wiley began to receive an outpour of screening and interview requests from all over the country.

During the past three weeks alone, Wiley accepted two awards, including the award for Best Documentary at the WYSIWYG Christian Film Festival in San Francisco, CA.  Nella DuBon, WYSIWYG film festival president comments, “This festival is internationally recognized for showcasing the best in wholesome, family cinema entertainment.  We received 94 entries, of which 49 were accepted and screened.  Ms. Wiley’s SOULMATE film was awarded an honor in the category for the film which best takes the cold, hard facts and enlightens as well as entertains us.”

SOULMATE also received the Best Feature Film at the 9th Annual African American Women in Cinema Film Festival in New York City.  The New York audience was moved to laughter, tears and self-reflection, as many thanked Wiley for making the film.  One viewer emerged from the theatre in tears of deep emotion and gratitude for seeing women on the screen who are just like her.  “I saw me on that screen.  This is my story.  It gave me such hope.”

"I am so humbled and honored by the overwhelming response the film is receiving from women and men from all walks of life across this country and abroad.  It is obviously striking a chord. I give God all the glory," says Wiley.

SOULMATE brings you face to face with the stark realities facing today’s single, professional African American women such as:

·         Black women are five times more likely to remain single at 40 than white women.

·         Unlike any other race, Black women have higher educational attainment than black men.

·         The more money and education a black woman has, the less likely she is to ever get married or have children.

·         Almost 70% of all new cases of HIV/AIDS are black women.

·         AIDS is the number one killer of black women between the ages of 25 and 44.

The SOULMATE documentary offers insight and wisdom on coping with singleness in a God-centered way from friends who gathered to share their personal experiences, as well as some of the nation’s most dynamic Christian leaders: Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer, senior pastor of Faithful Central Bible Church in Inglewood, CA—of which 66% of his 11,000 plus membership are singles; speaker, singer, former advertising agent and New York Times best selling author of Sassy, Single and Satisfied, Michelle McKinney Hammond; Rev. Dr. Cynthia Hale, senior pastor of Ray of Hope Christian Church in Decatur, GA; actress/comedienne Sherri Shepherd; and senior pastor Donald Bell of Covenant Blessing Fellowship Church, Gardena, CA, among others.
